2. What are cookies and storage/access technologies?

Cookies are small data files stored on a device. The same legal rules can also apply to technologies such as local storage, software development kits, tracking pixels, scripts, tags, link decoration and device-fingerprinting techniques when they store information on, or access information from, a user's device. In this Policy we call these "storage and access technologies".

3. The legal rules we follow

We apply the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended, together with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 where the information is personal data. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 introduced additional PECR exceptions that took effect on 5 February 2026, including exceptions for statistical purposes, for appearance/functionality preferences, and for emergency assistance. We apply these exceptions only where every condition described in sections 4 and 7 below is met; where a technology falls outside those conditions, we obtain consent before it is used.

5. Our cookie banner and consent controls

• Where consent is required, non-exempt technologies are not activated before you make a valid choice.
• The first layer provides equally clear options to accept non-exempt technologies, reject them, or customise choices.
• Consent is requested separately from the Terms and Conditions and is not bundled into booking acceptance.
• Choices are granular by purpose where appropriate and can be changed later through "Cookie Settings".
• Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
• For a statistical or appearance/functionality technology used under a PECR exception rather than consent, we provide a simple, free means to object.

6. Current cookie / technology register

The exact cookie list depends on the live website configuration. The table below is an illustrative starting template only and must be replaced with the actual register produced by a production cookie/storage scan before this Policy is published, and updated whenever a new analytics, advertising, payment, chat, video or social tool is added. The Cookie Settings centre should show the same current information.

7. Statistical analytics without consent — strict conditions

Where we rely on the PECR statistical-purpose exception, the sole purpose must be collecting statistical information about how the service is used with a view to improving it. We must provide clear information and a simple, free means to object. The exception is not for identifying, tracking or profiling individuals, advertising measurement, cross-service monitoring or retaining individual-level information after it is no longer needed for aggregation. If the technology goes beyond those conditions, we will obtain consent before use.

7A. Browser and device privacy signals

Some browsers and devices send an automated signal such as "Do Not Track" or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. UK law does not yet give these signals a single defined legal effect. Where we can technically detect a recognised opt-out signal, we treat it as equivalent to withdrawing consent for non-essential categories on that browser, but we recommend using our own Cookie Settings tool for a reliable record of your choice, since not all signals are consistently detectable.

8. Third-party technologies

Third-party services such as payment providers, maps, chat/WhatsApp links, embedded media, analytics or advertising tools may set or access information on your device. We configure these tools to respect consent and PECR exceptions where possible. Where a third party uses information for its own purposes, its own privacy/cookie documentation may also apply.

9. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and similar tools

If Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, social-media pixels or similar technologies are enabled, we classify the actual configuration rather than relying on the product name alone. Any configuration used for advertising, retargeting, cross-site tracking, individual profiling or conversion sharing with advertising partners remains disabled until valid consent is obtained. A statistical-only analytics configuration may rely on the PECR statistical exception only if every condition in section 7 is met.

10. How to manage or withdraw your choices

• Open the "Cookie Settings" link available in the website footer or cookie banner.
• Reject or disable consent-based categories at any time.
• Use the available objection control for statistical or preference technologies used under a PECR exception.
• You may also use browser/device settings to delete or block technologies, but blocking essential technologies may prevent booking or secure account functions from working.

11. How long technologies last

Some technologies are deleted when the browser closes (session technologies); others remain for a defined period. We choose durations that are proportionate to purpose and publish the current duration in the live cookie register in section 6. Consent/objection preference records may be retained for a reasonable period (up to 6 months for the consent-banner record) so that we can respect your choice and demonstrate compliance.

11A. Consent record-keeping

Where you give, refuse or withdraw consent through our cookie banner or Cookie Settings, we keep a record of that choice (typically the choice made, the date, and a technical identifier for your browser) so that we can demonstrate compliance with PECR and UK GDPR if asked by the ICO, and so that your preference is remembered on your next visit. This record is itself processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11B. Children

Our website and cookies are directed at adults booking or providing cleaning services and are not designed to attract children. We do not knowingly use non-essential storage or access technologies to profile or target advertising at children.

12. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We update this Policy and the live cookie register when the website, law or technology stack changes. Adding a new non-exempt purpose does not make old consent valid for that new purpose; where fresh consent is required, we will ask for it before activating the relevant technology.
